The Zebra Press story

What does Zebra Press stand for?

We try to publish books that provoke debate, stimulate interest in contemporary South Africa, or simply entertain. We specialise in politics, history and biography, as well as business and humour. Sometimes controversial, sometimes informative … we always want to be challenging, and our remarkable mix of titles reflect the diversity of South African society.

We have recently started publishing South African fiction, in both English and Afrikaans, to great success – with our second novel, Coldsleep Lullaby, receiving the Sunday Times Fiction Prize (2006).

Our strength lies in our strong base of South African authors, the stories they have to tell or the advice they have to give. We are proud to be the link between them and the growing number of South African readers.
