Two Terrific Moments for Zebra Press Authors Francis Wilson and Lynn Carneson (Photos)

Notes and snaps from the Random House Struik Facebook page! First up, one of our authors meets the president:

Dinosaurs Diamonds and Democracy“Why didn’t they have history books like this when I was at school?” Umuzi author Francis Wilson hands a copy of his book Dinosaurs, Diamonds and Democracy to President Zuma earlier this year (picture taken by Omar Badsha).

This fully illustrated brief history of South Africa over two billion years has been called “a miracle of compression”. The book has seen two printings and an updated new edition will be released in September.

Next, a special handover of a special edition:

Red in the RainbowSarah Carneson, 94, a veteran of the struggle against apartheid, yesterday received a specially printed copy of Red in the Rainbow, a book that chronicles the story of her and her late husband Fred Carneson.

Because she is unable to read small-print books, publishers Zebra Press had one large-format copy printed for Mrs Carneson. Print-on-demand company Mega Digital kindly printed it for free.

Photos from the Launch of Joost: Man in the Mirror

JoostJoostZebra Press is pleased to present this gallery of photographs taken at one of Joost van der Westhuizen and David Gemmell recent book signings, held at the Menlyn CNA to promote Man in the Mirror / Spieëlbeeld.

Arguably the best scrumhalf to have played rugby union, Joost van der Westhuizen has created as much media excitement off the field as he did on it. From his rugby heroics to his marriage to the glamorous Amor Vittone to the recent sex-tape revelations, Joost has been constantly in the news. Man in the Mirror follows the careers of Joost the rugby player and Joost the man. A fascinating narrative of a rugby prodigy and controversial celebrity, it unearths the truth behind the allegations and counter-allegations that surround his life.
