Two Terrific Moments for Zebra Press Authors Francis Wilson and Lynn Carneson (Photos)
Notes and snaps from the Random House Struik Facebook page! First up, one of our authors meets the president:
“Why didn’t they have history books like this when I was at school?” Umuzi author Francis Wilson hands a copy of his book Dinosaurs, Diamonds and Democracy to President Zuma earlier this year (picture taken by Omar Badsha).
This fully illustrated brief history of South Africa over two billion years has been called “a miracle of compression”. The book has seen two printings and an updated new edition will be released in September.

Next, a special handover of a special edition:
Sarah Carneson, 94, a veteran of the struggle against apartheid, yesterday received a specially printed copy of Red in the Rainbow, a book that chronicles the story of her and her late husband Fred Carneson.
Because she is unable to read small-print books, publishers Zebra Press had one large-format copy printed for Mrs Carneson. Print-on-demand company Mega Digital kindly printed it for free.
