How Much Money do You Need to be Happy? Andrew Bradley Answers the Cardinal Question (Video)

How Much is Enough?Andrew Bradley was recently interview by SABC News about his new book How Much is Enough?, which was co-written with Arun Abey and Andrew Ford.

In the video, Bradley says many of us “pursue money as the end objective, believing that that’s going to enable us to live the life that we want to live, and therefore be happy.”

The research that he, Abey and Ford did, however, did not support the idea that money brings happiness. Money is often an external benchmark, and it is striving for internal goals is what actually generates happiness.

Here’s Why John Hanks is Strongly Committed to the Legal Trade of Rhino Horn (Video)

Operation Lock and the War on Rhino PoachingJohn Hanks, author of Operation Lock and the War on Rhino Poaching, was recently interviewed by Peter Gastrow for the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime.

In the video, Hanks says “I am strongly committed to motivating for the legal trade in rhino horn.” He says that the cost of protecting rhinos is escalating fast, and while this investment is important, there are many other things that the government needs to invest in.

Rhinos are almost always killed when horn is poached illegally. But Hanks says a horn can be removed without harming the animal, and horns grow back at a rate of 1 kilogram a year for males and 600 grams a year for females.

Justice Must Still be Done: Bob Hewitt Sentenced to Six Years in Jail Three Decades After His Crimes

Bob Hewitt, former tennis champion, was recently sentenced to six years in jail for rape and sexual assault of three girls he coached in the 1980s and 1990s.

Hewitt was reportedly dejectedly impassive when he received his sentence. He is 75 years old, and suffers from a heart condition. As a result of his conviction, Hewitt’s wife Delaille, who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, will be forced to live alone on their farm in the Eastern Cape.

Judge Bert Bam said that even though it is years later, it is important that justice be done. Sport Seven reported on the conviction:

“Outside the Pretoria courthouse, activists against abuse against children had hung posters on the gates that read “Child rape = life sentence.”

“We’re just trying to digest it,” said Suellen Sheehan, one of Hewitt’s victims who was in the courtroom for the sentencing.

Sheehan testified that Hewitt raped her in his car when he took her for tennis lessons in 1982 when she was aged 12.

Steve Hofmeyr 50Laaste dans, DrienieKapabelDie verste uurMense van my asem

Hy is ongelooflik in hierdie rol.”
